“OXYGEN PLANT AT SUPER SPECIALITY HOSPITAL, BARJORA, BANKURA,WEST BENGAL UNDER PM-Cares”
plant has been setup inside Super Speciality Hospital, Barjora, Bankura, West Bengal by
Central Public Works Department ( CPWD ) & Defence Research and Development
Organisation ( DRDO ) from PM-CARES fund.
All the Civil and Electrical related works has been done by CPWD in a record time of 14 days.
The site was given to the CPWD Durgapur Unit on 13.05.2021 by Hospital Authorities. In
mere 14 days CPWD has completed construction of shed, electrical earthing, laying of power
cables, under the pandemic and lockdown situation.
As soon as the site was ready for installation of the oxygen plant, DRDO dispatched the plant
on 30.05.2021 from Begaluru to Pangarh via air force stations and has reached the Hospital.
The plant can generate medical oxygen at the rate of 1000 litre per minute, which is connected
to the existing Gas Manifold Room of hospital, through which it will be supplied to the patients
admitted in the hospital.
Bankura Administration, Hospital Authorities and Officials at Swasthya Bhawan, Salt Lake,
Kolkata has provided every assistance which enabled CPWD & DRDO to setup the oxygen
plant in such a short duration.
The plant is expected to get functional by 03.06.2021, as per the information received from
local authorities.
