“INDIAN ARMY TREE PLANTATION DRIVE AT PANAGARH MILITARY STATION TO MARK 75TH YEAR OF INDEPEDENCE”
The saplings were planted by the Patron of Army Public School and its students and parents. The chairman also interacted with students, teachers and parents present during the event and emphasised the importance of trees in our life and our responsibility towards preserving nature. Patriotic songs were sung by the students and a display by Army Band was also organised during the event. In order to ensure that the saplings survive, their ownership was entrusted to the school children. The event was aimed towards instilling a sense responsibility towards preserving nature besides inculcating patriotism in younger generation of the nation.
Indian Army has been a role model for the nation in preserving nature and assisting in increasing forest cover by organising Plantation Drives across the country. Such events testify Indian Army’s resolve to promote ‘Green Initiative’ and to undertake development activities while preserving the nature.
